Alta Law Ltd act on a “No Win, No Fee” basis. We will only charge you a fee if (i) your claim is successful; (ii) you cancel the agreement after the 14-day cooling-off period; or (iii) if you materially breach the terms of your agreement with us. If your claim is unsuccessful, you won’t pay us anything.
If your case is successful, we will charge you a percentage of any financial benefit that you receive. Our fee structure is outlined below. This fee may be shared with introducers involved in the process.
What sets us apart is our commitment to delivering the utmost quality of service, drawing on years of expertise in addressing financial mis-selling issues and helping our customers claim back what’s rightfully theirs, simplifying the process for our customers wherever possible.

Our service fee is based on the gross amount of compensation awarded to you and will be deducted from any awarded compensation. Our fees will reduce the amount of cash you will receive. If you have any outstanding liabilities with the third party against whom the claim is made, any damages, compensation, or settlement monies might, in certain circumstances, be offset against those outstanding liabilities, and you will need to pay our fees from your own funds. Any reduction of indebtedness will not be considered when applying the maximum percentage rate of charge. In the unlikely event that compensation is paid to you directly, you will still need to pay our fees.
We do not expect you to pay our fees before your lender releases funds. However, if you receive financial benefit directly, we expect you to settle our fees within 10 working days. If we are paid directly, we will send your refund to you minus our fees without delay and within 2 business days.
You can cancel for free within 14 days of signing your agreement. If you cancel after 14 days, we may charge a Cancellation Fee. Where your lender has made an offer, we will charge you in accordance with our “No Win, No Fee” structure as outlined above. If you cancel after the 14-day cancellation period, we will charge for the work that we have done on your case in accordance with our cancellation policy.
Where we must chase for our bill to be settled more than 21 days, we reserve the right to charge a £50 administration fee for this. If we need to instruct a third party to collect a debt, we reserve the right to pass on such costs to you. We also reserve the right to charge interest on any outstanding charges that are 21 days or more overdue.
You do not need to use a law firm to make a claim. You have the right to make a complaint to the lender directly or the relevant Ombudsman to seek redress for free. You can also seek legal advice elsewhere. The Financial Conduct Authority has recently confirmed that it will begin consulting on a consumer redress scheme. Under a redress scheme, you may not need to register a complaint to be eligible for or receive compensation.
